GUST Soccer Team

Today my class colleague and friend Farouq Samhouri conducted an interview with me about GUST’s soccer team. I will be talking about the soccer team in terms of their achievements as well as the environment around them.
Questions:
  1. How long have you played for GUST’s soccer team?
  2. How do you consider GUST’s soccer team?
  3.  Do you see GUST‘s soccer team succeeding in the future?

Responses:
  1.  I have joined the soccer team since 2007 when I first joined the university.
  2.  They are really a great team with huge ambitions. We have won two UCC titles and we have got the second place in the UCC tournament this year beneath ACK.
  3. YES for sure!! They are a very good and talented team with outgoing personalities.

I dearly appreciate my friend, Farouq Samhouri in helping set up this interview. If you have any questions concerning the GUST’s Soccer Team, please let me know and will be more than happy to answer them.

GUST leads UCC Championships Ranks

The Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) participated in the University Championship Cup (UCC) 2011, which is a sports tournament for private universities in different sports which started in 2006. The universities who competed with GUST this year are the American University of Kuwait (AUK) and the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK).
The UCC participants competed in five intercollegiate sports: soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis and table tennis.  The sport venues were provided by participating universities, allowing the UCC to take place on various campuses.  This year AUK hosted table tennis, ACK hosted soccer and tennis, and GUST hosted basketball and volleyball in its grand gym.
The UCC 2011 started at the beginning of April with seasonal play.  As the season progressed, the universities where ranked based on their win/lose record in each sport. GUST won first place in Women’s Volleyball, Men’s Table Tennis, Women’s Table Tennis and Men’s Soccer while trailing hot in second place with Men’s Basketball and Men’s Volleyball.
The awards ceremony was held at ACK to honor all the participating teams, student-athletes and award the UCC 2011 trophy – where 1st place was awarded to AUK, GUST at a close 2nd and ACK at 3rd place.
